April Check-in – Spring has Sprung!

It’s the beginning of April and time for another monthly check-in.  We are officially in the Spring Season.  My friend and family on the East Coast had a long winter with a lot of snow late in the season.  But I hear, it’s even starting to look and feel like spring there!

I want to wish my parents a very Happy 53rd Wedding Anniversary.  As well as my Brother and Sister-in-Law, who are celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary as well.  Congratulations and I love you all!

Spring is one of my favorite seasons.  The trees are starting to show their new canopy of leaves.  Flower are blooming and the farmer’s market is starting to fill up with spring fruits and vegetables.  Yummy!

We just celebrated Transgender Day of Visibility.  I was honored to host a plan discussion of Successful Transgender Women.  It was really inspirational.

Here is my monthly check-in for April.

I’m loving the new website design.  I’ve spent some time reorganizing the contents.  I’m sure, I will continue to tweak the site a bit more.  In the months ahead I”ll start integrating my website TLC4Life into this site.   I’ve really enjoyed bring the aspects of both sites in one place.  So, over the next few weeks, you might see some post that might look familiar, but I promise I will update each post.

My coaching practice continues to be busy, which feels really good.  I really enjoy working with my clients and hear about all the amazing things that are happening in their lives.

This is the time of year when I travel a lot of work.  This seems to be Trade show season.  So I get to spend time in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and occasionally NYC!  Two of the major Trade shows I attend always seem to be scheduled a week apart.   While I love to travel it all feels really rushed and not very relaxing.

On the Personal Front

My closet project took a big step forward.  I cleaned out a bunch of clothes, while there are still more to go, it was a great started.  I found my path, with what items were important to me, what I love and wear and what I have just because I thought I should have it or keep it.

My health has been a mess this past winter with allergies.  I’m allergic to mold spore.  All the rain in California has helped the mold grow.  then a couple of dry days with a little breeze spreads it all around.   I’ve literally been down for the count for two days and my allergies are still hanging around with the occasional flair up.  I’m hoping the warmer days of April will put my 2017 allergy season to bed.

While I’m doing better with getting up early and to the gym – Thanks to an app called  Coach.ME.  I’m not where I want to be with my gym attendance, but I have been getting in my 10k steps.  I know I  need more exercise than that however after the last two months of allergies I’ll take it.   Now, that the rain has stopped and my allergies have cleared up I’ve been able to get back out on the golf course.  Yes, I’m a golfer and love it!

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SPRING?

What are you focused on this Spring?  Here’s a post on getting the most out of this season.  Maybe getting outside more?  Eating better or even exercising more? Are you starting to feel like the year is already get away from you?   Don’t get upset, Spring is a great time to get re-focused.   Be kind to yourself It’s never too late to start.  Take time to think about what’s important to you and where you want to be this year.

Try utilizing my two simple questions that help you focus on what’s important.

  • WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE MORE OF IN THE YEAR AHEAD?  I WOULD LIKE TO ATTRACT…
  • WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO LET GO OF IN THE YEAR AHEAD?  I WOULD LIKE LESS…

Use these questions as the base for your plan..  When a decision, choice or opportunity comes your way, ask yourself,  “Do I want more or less of this in my life?”.

If you want more, go for it.  If you want less, figure out what you can change to make it work better for you and what can get you more of what you want.  These questions allow you more flexibility and a gentler approach to living your life.
