Beauty is all around us.
We use all of our senses to appreciate beauty every day. But here is the question, do you use all of your senses to appreciate your own beauty.
Each of us is beautiful in our own way. I know for many that statement has been used as a negative or put down, but it’s only your perception that makes it negative. We are all beautiful in our own way and the statement only becomes negative when your self-esteem is not where it should be.
Who is to say what is beautiful? you are, I am, we all get an opinion, and we all know opinions are just that opinions.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder – we each behold it differently. You opinion may differ from mine, but our opinions are what makes us beautiful.
So what is your opinion when you look in the mirror? Do you see beauty? Do you see unconditional love? What do you see? If you never mentioned seeing beauty or love, you’re missing the true you, your inner spirit. When you look in your own eyes, can you see the beauty of your inner spirit? It can take time and practice, but once you see the glow of that inner spirit, seeing beauty in the external world will take on a whole new meaning.
It can take time and practice, but once you see the glow of that inner spirit it can change how you see the world. When you start to see the beauty of the external world through the eyes of your inner spirit, the concept of beauty will take on a whole new meaning.
What to give it a try? Mirror, mirror on the wall exercise.
When you are alone and have time stand in front of a well-lit mirror. You should be able to see yourself clearly and be close enough to see your pupils. Close your eyes and take three deep cleansing breaths. On the exhale of the third breath open your eyes and look yourself in the eyes. Don’t say a word, just look at yourself for 90 seconds. Let any emotion come. Feel those emotions, connect to those emotions, trust me if you are really looking at yourself without judgment, emotions will come. At the end of the 90 seconds, tell yourself you love yourself and thank yourself for opening up and sharing. Close your eyes again, take another deep breath and relax. Take a few minutes to process what happened – it can be quite powerful.
