Ah, the Mantra, most of have heard of them, but many of us don’t really know what they are. Let’s start with a definition first.
Wikipedia gives the definition of a Mantra as a sacred utterance, numinous sound, or a syllable, word, phonemes, or group of words believed by some to have psychological and spiritual power in Sanskrit.
Mantras may or may not have a syntactic structure or literal meaning; the spiritual value of a mantra comes when it is audible, visible, or present in thought.
Mantras are most often associated with meditation and yoga, but many business professionals are also using the idea of a mantra. They are developing a single phrase that defines themselves or their business. much like a mission statement, but less future focused and more core focused who they are and what they feel.
So here is my personal Mantra, which I’ve used for a couple of years. It took some time to get to it. I wanted something simple, complete, yet expansive enough to carry with me for years to come.
“Health, Wealth, Happiness.”
Sounds pretty simple and basic right? In these three words, I found great power, balance, and future.
I will be going into more detail about each word in a future post, but for now, I will take this out of my personal private practice and put it out to the Universe.
What’s your Mantra? What’s at your core?
