Mid-Month Check-In

I know it’s hard to believe, but we are already three weeks into 2017.  So what a great time for quick mid-month check-in on how the new years is starting out.

It always amazes me how much can happen in such a short period of time or in some cases how little.   Also, how many of us have already given up on our resolutions.

Whether you were looking to losing weight, cleaning out a closet, finding a new job or the perfect relationship (whatever the perfect relationship is).  For many of us, those resolutions have already fallen by the wayside already.  But have no fear, change take time and focus,  Remember there are still 48 weeks left in 2017!

Here is my mid-month check in for the new year.

On the professional side, I’m looking to redesign a couple of my websites. I will update all of them this year, but one needs an over-haul and a couple others, just need design/layout work.

Work to date:  I have updated several pages on one of the sites,  which will continue for the next month.  Two other sites are close to having new designs and layout, but there are several final details waiting to be worked out.

The other professional area I’ll be focusing on is my coaching practice.  While my practice is good, I would like to move it from good to great.

Work to date:  I’m still working with clients, but haven’t started to focusing on my core client type as of yet.  I’m not feeling pressure to do so as I know it will organically happy when the time is right.

On the personal side, my health and closet were two main areas of focus.

Work to date:  My parents are visiting for the first three weeks of January.  This has pushed back any attempts at tackling my closet.  I have, however, begun to list the items I love and those I can live without.

Focusing on my health, on the other hand, has had a bit of a rough start.  I was hoping to do better with getting to the gym, eating better and alike.  However, my parent’s visit and the wet weather has made it more challenging than I was prepared for.  I take full responsibility for my lack of focus on this area, but I’m really enjoying the time with my mom and dad.    I will get this back on track in February.

How is your new year shaping up?

Have your resolutions fallen to the wayside or are you still actively working on them?

If your finding the year isn’t going just the way you thought.  I again ask you to be kind to yourself.  Take time to think about what’s important to you and where you want to be in December 2017.

Utilize these two simple questions to help you put a plan in place, filled hope and optimism.

Here are the two questions

  • What would you like more of in the year ahead?  I would like to attract…

  • What would you like to let go of in the year ahead?  I would like less…

Use these questions as the base for your plan over the new year.  When a decision, choice or opportunity comes your way ask yourself, “Do I want more or less of this in my life?”.

If you want more, go for it.  If you want less, figure out what you can change to make it better work for you and what you want more of. These questions allow you flexibility and a gentler approach to living your life.

If you’re still finding it a challenge to get this year focused, let’s get together on a coaching call work it out
